Worked with a major test kit manufacturer and laminated foil manufacturer to develop and produce a new type of pouch with desiccant properties. Thysen Consulting was the primary engineering group responsible for pouch design, selection of contract manufacturers and equipment, pouch testing methods, contract manufacturing startup, and packaging documentation. Pouch design and material were recently entered for the Dupont Flexible Packaging Innovation Award.

Planned and specified packaging equipment for filling a high-volume liquid nose-spray product. Equipment included pump orientation, liquid volume verification, and CIP systems.  

Investigated alternatives to reduce cost of insert, label, and plastic container for a high-volume test kit. Estimated cost savings was over three million dollars per year.

Selected and qualified contract manufacturers. Started up manufacturing at their facilities for test kit, liquid, and solid dose products.
